about me
& my approach

For most of my life, I was on the go.

Constantly looking towards the next thing I had to do, prepare for, or achieve. Most of this sprouted from living back and forth between divorced parents and just meeting a modern, fast-spaced lifestyle where it was.

Throughout childhood and young adulthood, I would have "random" ailments pop up but nothing jolting enough to take serious action on or alter my lifestyle in anyway. They were easily subsided with prescriptions or ignorance.

Coping mechanisms cemented in & worked for a while... people pleasing, perfectionism, hyper-independency, and trying to become the most perfect version of myself. Never feel, but fix.

Insert: low-grade anxiety, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, and other bothersome ailments that didn't seem to make sense considering I was a "healthy" person.

. . .

My turning point was the moment I chose to stop taking the birth control pill towards the end of college.

As a result, I experienced an eruption of symptoms: migraines, cystic acne, amenorrhea, severe digestion discomfort, and hair loss. Over a short period time, this snowballed into Hashimoto's, PCOS, IBS, Celiac Disease, SIBO, anxiety and depression.

This woke me up.

I think for the first time in my life I actually stopped in my tracks and started to redirect my attention on myself and what I was doing. I became conscious.

Experiencing the symptoms HURT, physically and emotionally. I didn't want them and they were uncomfortable to experience.

As a result, and in accordance with the way I had always handled life, I tried to control the post-pill "situation" and fix the symptoms. I really gave it my all. I practically turned my whole life upside down.

. . .

I went from HIIT classes & social climbing, to early nights and meditation. If I was going to do something, I was going to do it PERFECTLY. I tried every diet out there, functional medicine, supplements, low-toxic lifestyle, meditation, therapy, Chinese medicine, somatic healing, frequency healing, energy healing, inner child workshops, etc.

I had made progress over the years, while simultaneously learning a lot about natural healing and myself, but symptoms STILL persisted. I still felt like something was wrong with me and the fear and hopelessness that I would never heal constricted me more and more each day.

At this point, I spent most of my time alone, in the midst of suffering and confusion, feeling trapped by the symptoms. I desperately wanted to go out and live the life I dreamt of but felt I couldn't because of the symptoms and state of my body.

. . .

I eventually stumbled into information on the subconscious mind which helped me become aware of how my own mind was operating and contributing to the suffering. This helped me shift my perspective on how I was relating to my body and the symptoms.

For the first time in 5 years, I gained a sense of separation, clarity, and freedom from the grip I felt the symptoms had on me. This was huge.

. . .

After intentional mindset work and progress, I felt pretty dang good.

However, I knew in my heart that true vitality, the kind of energy, joy, and blissfulness we see in children, was possible.

Spells of bloating, headaches, irregular menstrual cycle, food sensitivities, skin flare ups, and indigestion were still showing up and I knew they weren't natural. I could feel that there was still a piece I was missing.

. . .

Insert: Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is known as “the knowledge or science of living.” Read in more detail here.

Upon discovering Ayurveda, I realized I had never truly learned how to take care of my body, mind, or energy, and my previous studies weren't cutting it.

Ayurveda provided foundational holistic principles that helped me heal deep rooted imbalance, as well as teach me daily lifestyle and eating habits to help promote optimal health and longevity.

It worked with my body allowing it to do the healing it already knew how to it and my body jumped at the opportunity to come back into balance.

The healing truly felt effortless and I was more and more surprised each day with how effective it was.

. . .

I know what it’s like to feel like you are suffering from symptoms chronically.

To feel like you have tried every possible approach and aren’t making any real progress. To feel like no one understands your story or is trying to. To feel confused, disheartened, or debilitated by symptoms.

I am here to inspire you with the confidence that it’s not only possible to feel well, but rather instill within you that it is your birth right; it's your body’s innate capability.

Vitality is your true nature and I am here to help guide you in re-aligning with it. Join me.

a bit further into Ayurveda

WHAT IS IT?

The word Ayurveda is Sanskrit and can be translated to “the science or knowledge of living.”

Ayurveda is a complete, holistic medical system that dates back over 5000 years ago. It provides us with foundational principles that help align our way of living with nature.

Incorporating Ayurveda into your life can result in profound healing given the body is an expression of nature and modern day living has deviated us from our natural way of living.

WHY IT'S (POWERFULLY) DIFFERENT FROM OTHER APPROACHES

It addresses the root cause of imbalance from a holistic perspective to help reverse the disease process, sustain optimal well-being, and promote longevity.

It is the only medical system to address one’s individualized physical, mental and spiritual constitution i.e. Ayurveda curates to the unique YOU vs just going off of "what's healthy."

It considers each person as their only true healer. Each individual “holds the keys” to unlock their own true optimal health and everything along the way is just guidance.

Ayurveda promotes a sense of self-reflection, self-awareness, and responsibility that naturally raises consciousness and therefore the ability to heal on an even deeper level.

. . .

Personally, I overlooked Ayurveda amongst my years of trying to feel better.

I was initially introduced to it from a Westernized perspective with mind/body-type quizzes and food lists which made it seem similar to diet regiment. I shuffled past it quickly assuming it wasn't "grand enough for me and all my intricate ailments and severity of disease."

After reconnecting with the traditional science of Ayurveda, I can speak with confidence the power and true healing that this ancient wisdom holds.
